Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Rockstar', the most awaited film of the year has created a buzz among the people,with several things like Ranbir's look, the lead actress Nargis Fakri, poster and the most importantly the song 'Sadda haque'. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, this film is expected to break many records in Bollywood. So, what's the story behind 'Rockstar'. We spoke to the story write of the film Muazzam Beg. He shares some of the unknown aspects about what went behind writing the story of the much awaited film.

So here it is in Muazzam's words:

"Rockstar is the first story I ever wrote.I believe that every writer starts writing something based on his own personal experiences, Rockstar is the birth of my own experiences of heart break. It is the interpretation of my own journey when i was studying film making in Jamia Milia. 

Some years back I was working I was working in Mukta Arts Subhash Ghai's production house as an in-house writer, there I got an opportunity to narrate this story to Imtiyaz Ali,as he would often visit the office, because he was planning a movie with Subhashji. Well, nothing much that time. However, later UTV decided to bring  the story to the audience, with John Abraham playing the lead protagonist 'Rockstar' in it, but unfortunately, the project got shelved. Well, the story came back to me. Later on I reworked on it and decided that I will not shelf the story but make a movie on this in the future.

Before the release of Love Aaj Kal Imtiaz Ali called me for a meeting. When we met and he asked me "if you are not making Rockstar I will make it. Because this story is so close to my heart". Because he has been a writer himself, he wanted to write the screenplay on his own and he even said that he don't

want to hear my version of the screenplay. Imitaz Ali is one of my favourite director and a person who understands the emotion of love so well, I sacrificed my own wish of making rockstar and gave the story to him, which is so close to my heart. Only because I knew it Imtiaz who can tell this story so well!

Now when I watch the promo of Rockstar, I feel I am on cloud nine. I respect my own judgment. the only thing I am upset about is that my name is not there even in IMDB. However, I have a contract and a promise from Imtiaz, according to which, my name will appear in the opening credit. So, I am content with it."
 
It is a strange co-incidence that, Muazzam's first directorial debut film is titled as "Sadda Adda", Ramesh B. Agarwal presents a Rajtaru Studios production Film -"Sadda Adda". Banner -Rajtaru studios limited, Producer: Ramesh B. Agarwal, Rajeev R. Agarwal & Tarun R. Agarwal, Cast:- Karanvir Sharma, Shaurya Chauhan, Bhaumik Sampat, Kahkkashan Aryan, Rohin Robert, Rohit Arora, Kunal Pant, Parimal Aloke.

Although not from any filmi background, Muazzam Beg has studied filmmaking at MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia University. Before MCRC, he was involved in theatre and has acted, written and directed several plays in his home town Shahjahanpur (UP) and in Delhi. The versatile artiste started his carrier with Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts as an in-house writer (2003-2005). and However, as a independent writer his first film was Manoj Bajpai starrer Swami (2006) directed by Ganesh Acharya. He had co- written the screenplay with Bhavani Ayyer and written the dialogues. Once he worked with Ganesh Acharya and wrote the script of Money hai toh honey hai (2008) which had Govinda in the lead and worked closely with him and screenplay writer Sachin Bhawmick as well as Late Mr. Shabd Kumar.
