Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar goes houseful

Rockstar has a mind blowing opening on its first day. As expected, Ranbir Kapoor turned out to be the true Rockstar and embarked on a solid start at multiplexes of almost all major centres. At places, the opening was nearly 100 per cent while the opening numbers at several stations were in 70 to 80 per cent.
In fact, the strong opening didn't come as a surprise since the film boasts of the Imtiaz
Ali - Ranbir Kapoor - A.R. Rahman combo. However, the response at single screens was not strong, with several screens opening to 40 to 50 per cent range.
ROCKSTAR is expected to gross impressive figures on Day 1 thanks to the contribution from plexes. However, the weekend numbers will mirror where the film stands, since the word of mouth is extremely mixed.
We hope the film continues to pull the crowd till the next week.
